Orangutans are one of the world's many natural wonders and one of the smartest animals, but sadly, they are critically endangered due to deforestation caused by the production of palm oil. However, if we all do our part, there's still time to save them!
Orangutans are primates native to Borneo, Malaysia and Indonesia. They are incredibly smart animals, the 19th most intelligent in the world which is rxtremely high when you consider the fact that there are over 1.2 million animal species in the world! These intelligent animals even use tools such as sticks to find food!
Gardeners of the Forest
Orangutans also play a vital role in keeping the rainforests healthy. They are the "Gardeners of the forest" since they eat a lot of fruits, scattering the seeds throughout, planting hundreds of trees.
Orangutans are emotional animals that feel the same feeling that we do. They whimper when they're hurt, mourn their losses, and babies smile at their mothers and cry when they're hungry.
Palm Oil Threat
Sadly, these magnificent creatures are critically endangered because of the deforestation caused by the production of palm oil. Palm oil is a cheap vegetable oil, grown in Borneo, Indonesia and Malaysia, the only places where orangutans live. Because of palm oil, over 100,000 orangutans have lost their lives and their home has decreased by 300 soccer fields per hour, and that's still happening right now.
Please, for the orangutans, boycott palm oil!
Please consider making a generous donation to the Orangutan Project so that they can continue to save these magnificent creatures and protect their land from being destroyed by palm oil! Please and thank you!
