Eating Out as a Vegan

As I vegan, I find that eating at home is pretty easy.  There are so many tasty recipes and alternatives to everyday products, so dining in made simpler.  Eating out sometimes proves to be a struggle though, since there are many people who aren't 100% sure what vegans can and cannot eat, and not all options are labeled, making it tricky to order.  That's why I've come up with this list of vegan-friendly restaurants, along with the options that you can enjoy while living a cruelty-free life!

Home of gourmet burgers, including some vegan options, Red Robins has several options for meals and sides that are both tasty and filling!

Burgers

When I think Red Robins, burgers usually come to mind, so it's a good thing that they offer vegan burgers for us to enjoy!  There are 2 vegetarian options that can be made vegan, a vegan option, as well as a build your own option!

Vegan Burger:

Ancient-grain-and-quinoa veggie patty with house-made salsa, fresh avocado slices and lettuce on a lettuce bun. Served with steamed broccoli.*

To make the Veggie Burger vegan you have to remove the cheese, portobello-parm chips, and roasted garlic aioli, and to make the Impossible Gourmet Burger vegan, you have to remove the cheese and dill pickles as well as substitute the bun for a vegan option, so it's a good idea to build your own burger!

Please be careful with the brioche bun which is NOT vegan.  I accidentally made that mistake after another website said that it was vegan, but brioche buns contain both milk and eggs!

Steak Fries

Red Robins' steak fries are the best fries that I've ever had!  They are perfectly crispy on the outside, soft in the inside, and have a perfectly savory flavor that I love!  I was so happy to find out that they were vegan and can't wait to have them again!

Sweet Potato Fries

A healthier alternative to the steak fries, you can choose to have the sweet potato fries instead for a tasty side dish.

House Salad

Tasty veggies with your choice of oil & vinegar dressing or soybean salad oil, the house salad can be made vegan by removing the cheese and croutons.

Yukon Chips

Yes another tasty side dish are these yukon chips which are less filling than the fries, leaving more room for the rest of your meal!

Fruits and Veggies

You can also choose to have some fruits and veggies for a healthier meal.  Luckily, Red Robins has 2 options for you if this is what you want.  These 2 options include their steamed broccoli and fresh apple slices.

Now, all that's left for Red Robins to add to their menu is vegan root beer floats!  Send them a message or create a post on their Facebook page asking them to create one!  The more vegans that they see asking for one, the greater the chances of them actually making one!

Please note that although I've done my best to find the vegan options available at each of these restaurants, menus change and options that were once vegan may not be vegan anymore, so always make sure to check that they are by asking the waiter.

Also, more options may be added, so if you know of any, kindly let me know so I can share them here with other vegans!  I truly appreciate it!
