A creamy, garlicy sauce, this pesto sauce is not only vegan, but it is also nut-free!
I personally love adding some shredded Violife parmesan to my pesto, but it's great either way!
6 ounces fresh basil leaves*
1/2 cup nutritional yeast
5 garlic cloves
1/2 lemon's juice
1 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup olive oil**
*If you don't have any fresh basil leaves, you can use fresh spinach leaves instead. The version with basil has a better flavor, but the spinach is tasty too!
**Please make sure that the olive oil comes from hand-picked olives. Those that are mechanically harvested can kill certain birds in the process.
Tip. Do not add the sauce to a hot pot. Doing so causes this delicious sauce to lose some of its scrumptious flavor.
