Spooky Halloween Party

3/3/2021

A spooky Halloween party with haunted decorations and a menu perfect for ghosts and witches, this party is a great way to celebrate Halloween!

On the side table at our Hallween party, spiderweb tablecloths lined the top, and there was a jack-o-lantern placed on top, as well as a few haunted-house decorations.  There were candle sticks, a spell-book, iron keys, and old bottles filled with colored water to resemble potions and swamp water.  You can add some chalkboard labels to your bottles for an extra touch!

The menu was one of the best parts of this party; everything was delicious!  There were so many tasty things to eat, and one of those were the chocolate fudge bats.

Ingredients:
1 - 11.25oz can sweetened condensed coconut milk
2 cups vegan semisweet chocolate chips
3 tbsp. coconut oil
2 pinches sea salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions:
  1. Line a 8x8" baking dish with parchment paper and grease lightly.
  2. Fill a small saucepan half-way with water and place a large bowl on top to create a double boiler.
  3. Place the condensed coconut milk, chocolate chips, coconut oil, and a pinch of sea salt in the large bowl and stir continously over low heat until everything is melted together.
  4. Pour the batter into the baking dish, sprinkle with the remaining salt, and place in the freezer to set for at least one hour.
  5. Use a bat-shaped cookie cutter to cut into as may bats as you can.  Serve and enjoy!

Set on the corner of the table was a candle holder with faux candles.  There was a bowl of fudge (chunks made out of the fudge that couldn't be formed into bats), human blood (store-bought strawberry lemonade), and a bowl of veins (RJs licorice).

There was also a big cauldron of fingers, that were very tasty (Hippeas white cheddar chickpea puffs)!

There were also some cute ghost-shaped sugar cookies to munch on!  They were slightly overbaked, but the flavor was great!  Here's the recipe for Vegan Empire's sugar cookies.
Please feel free to share pictures of your spooky Halloween party on Vegan Empire's Facebook page!  We can't wait to see your party and hear how it went!

Last but not least, there were mummy dogs which were made by wrapping some dough from Vegan Empire's "old-fashioned 'buttery' biscuits around an uncooked "Lightlife" hot dog and baking until golden.  To make them look like mummies, make sure that you can still see some of the hot dog.
