Vegan Is Kindness
Alone they cry, in darkness they die. As another day goes by, over 200 million animals will die for our consumption: about 2,134 per second. In the time that it takes to watch your favorite TV show, over 4 million living beings call out helplessly, waiting for someone to save them, as they’re beaten, boiled, and brutally killed, but no one comes.
It’s true that saving one animal won’t change the world, but for that one animal, the world will forever be changed. Vegans save an average of 198 animals each, every year. By going vegan, you can save hundreds of animals from suffering tremendous pain and a gruesome fate!
So, what is vegan? Vegan is kindness towards animals, vegan is compassion, vegan is respecting all life. Before you say, “but animals don’t feel anything”, let me tell you, they do. If they didn’t feel fear, why would they run when threatened? If they didn’t feel pain, why do they whimper when beaten? And if they don’t feel love, why do they mourn their losses?
Being vegan isn’t a risk to your health, and in fact, it’s healthier than a non-vegan lifestyle. You don’t need meat or any other animal products to get your proteins; after all, where do the animals you eat get their nutrients from? On average, vegans tend to weigh 28 pounds less than meat-eaters, thus living some 12% longer due to having fewer weight related health problems caused by eating animal products.
Love animals, love yourself, go vegan!
