Mami does so much for my sister and I, so every Mother's Day I always try to prepare a special brunch for her! This year I decided to keep it simple, focusing on a tasty menu featuring some of Mami's favorite foods rather than on the decorations. It was a success and Mami loved it all! Here's what we did to celebrate this Mother's Day!
The day before I was pretty busy, baking all the sweet treats so that everything would be ready the next morning. Mami was spending the night with a friend, so I was able to get it all done and keep it a surprise...Mami knew there'd be a brunch, but she didn't know what was on the menu! We were able to enjoy it all the next morning!
First off were these heart-shaped biscuits. I love making them pretty often, and I saw this fun idea, so I just had to make them!
Then there was a tower of donuts!
These were probably my favorite of the sweet treats! Maple-dipped donuts are one of my favorites, and my family loved them!
Plus, they're pretty easy to make and hold up well!
And there was a tower of cinnamon rolls as well!
They're one of the best breakfast foods and a perfect addition to any brunch!
And aside from the baked goods, we had some orange juice, Oatly chocolate oat-milk, and a savory menu as well...
One of those menu items was a tofu scramble that I really like! Then there were some breakfast sausage patties from Impossible Foods. Simple and delicious!
But my favorite of these dishes, and the overall favorite, were these breakfast potatoes! They were soft on the inside, crispy on the outside, and full of flavor!
We spent the day relaxing, watching TV together and munching on some snacks throughout the day. Even though we didn't do very much, we did spend the day together and had a great time, and that's what matters most!
Then later at night I made dinner, which was a spicy penne arrabiata with a side of garlic buns. The photos didn't turn out well, but fortunately, the flavor did! My Mami loved it!
I had a great time celebrating this Mother's Day with the best mom in the world! My Mami!
See an idea you like?
Pin it for later!
